However, she soon discovered that yoga provided more than just physical benefits. It became an opportunity to clear her mind and prepare for the week ahead.
Over the years, Jodi has explored various styles of yoga, studying with teachers in the UK, the USA, and Australia. Although her personal practise does not align with a specific tradition, it is rooted in the classical styles of Hatha Yoga and Iyengar. She also incorporates elements of Ashtanga and Vinyasa flow, focusing on breath control and movement synchronisation. Jodi has a particular interest in Pranayama (breath control) and Yoga Nidra (deep relaxation), as she recognises their profound healing effects on the body and mind.
In her classes, Jodi empowers her students to practise yoga mindfully by developing body awareness and postural alignment. She encourages strength, stability, and flexibility, all while emphasising the importance of relaxation and stress reduction through Yoga Nidra. Jodi's passion for teaching is evident in her gratitude towards her students, especially the expectant mothers, who share their yoga experience with her.
Jodi holds a teacher training certification from Sydney, Australia and has also completed specialised training in Pregnancy and Family Yoga with Uma Dinsmore-Tuli. As a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT200) with Yoga Alliance, Jodi prioritises her own personal and professional development by regularly attending courses and workshops to deepen her knowledge and understanding of yoga.
