Are you the owner of Xenoyoga?

Xenoyoga is a Yoga studio located in Bristol, founded by Smaragda Xenofou. Smaragda, also known as Sam, originally hails from Greece but moved to Exeter in 1996 to complete her studies in industrial building design after earning an engineering degree in Athens. She discovered the Iyengar Yoga method under the teachings of Gerry Chambers and Lynda Purvis when she moved to Bristol and has been practising ever since.
Smaragda has continued her journey in Iyengar Yoga by studying with various senior teachers in the UK and India. She is now qualified at Intermediate 2 level and is currently preparing for her Intermediate 3 qualification. With her husband and two young children, Smaragda resides permanently in Redland, Bristol, where she also works in the design company she co-owns with her husband.
For Smaragda, Iyengar yoga is a lifelong devotion and study. She travelled to Pune, India, to attend classes at the renowned Ramamani Iyengar Yoga Institute. It was there that she had the incredible opportunity to practise in the same room as B. K.
S. Iyengar, the founder of the Iyengar Yoga method. At 95 years old, Guruji B. K.
S. Iyengar taught Smaragda a valuable lesson – that a true teacher should always remain humble and continue to be a student on the path of learning. Smaragda was particularly drawn to the dynamic teaching style and “no fuss” approach at the institute, which she has incorporated into her own teachings.
xenoyoga has received rave reviews from students who have experienced Sam's classes. The knowledge, instruction, and teaching of Iyengar Yoga are said to be impressive, with many students progressing safely and steadily under Sam's patient guidance. Students appreciate the balance of firmness and humour she brings to her classes, making the experience both challenging and enjoyable.
In addition to her studio classes, Sam has also been running online Zoom classes during the COVID-19 pandemic, which have received high praise from her students. They hope she will continue offering these classes even after the pandemic, as it offers convenience for those who may not be able to make the trip to Redland every week.
xenoyoga also offers workshops, events, and organises yoga holidays on Sam's home island of Zakynthos in Greece every year. Sam's dedication and commitment to her students are highly regarded, with students describing her as 100% committed and someone who strives to bring out the best in her students.
If you are looking for a yoga teacher who is patient, knowledgeable, and ensures proper understanding and execution of poses, while also maintaining a sense of humour and a non-serious atmosphere, xenoyoga with Sam is highly recommended.
