Benefits of Rowing Rowing is a sport that offers numerous physical and mental benefits. From a physical standpoint, rowing is a full-body workout that engages all major muscle groups, helping to improve strength, endurance, and cardiovascular fitness. It is a low-impact sport, making it suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels.
Rowing also promotes mental well-being by reducing stress levels and improving overall mental health. It provides an opportunity to connect with nature and escape the pressures of daily life. Racing Southsea Rowing Club is actively involved in racing events throughout the year. We participate in both head races and regattas, competing against other clubs in the area.
Head races are 5K time trials that allow crews to assess their performance and continue training for the upcoming regatta season. Regattas take place on 2K courses from May to September and provide an opportunity for rowers to showcase their skills and compete for trophies and titles.
