Traq - Washpool World Heritage Trails invites all running enthusiasts to participate in the upcoming Lake Manchester Trails event. This local running event, situated just west of Mount Crosby in Lake Manchester, QLD, offers a range of running options for participants of all ages and fitness levels.

Whether you're looking for a fun 1 km Kids Dash for the little ones, a leisurely 5 km run or walk, a moderate 10 km challenge, or a demanding 23 km run, Lake Manchester Trails has something for everyone. Participants can take in the picturesque views of the lake and surrounding trails while tackling their chosen distance.

Registration for the event is scheduled for Sunday, August 18, 2024 (TBC), at Lake Manchester, QLD 4306. Entry fees vary based on the selected distance and participant's TRAQ membership status, ranging from A$10.50 for the 1 km Kids Dash to A$85.00 for the 23 km run. Interested individuals can easily register on the event's website.

On race day, participants can expect race briefings and starts for each distance. Parents and carers of minors are encouraged to attend the race briefing with their children. As part of the event's sustainability efforts, there is a no-disposable-cups policy, so participants should remember to bring their own reusable cup, water bottle, or mug.

For post-race refreshments, complimentary sausages and coffee, along with soft drinks, fruit, water, and electrolytes, will be available at the finish line. Additionally, a coffee vendor named Rachid will be on-site early for those looking to purchase coffee before the races kick off.

To reach Lake Manchester, participants can follow a simple route from Mt Cootha, taking the Western Freeway onto Moggill Road, then Mount Crosby Road, and finally turning onto Lake Manchester Road. Parking and event entrance can be found 300m past the Lake Manchester Reserve entrance.

With detailed course maps available on the event's website, participants can choose their preferred distance and familiarise themselves with the route. Whether you opt for the challenging 23 km course with river crossings or the shorter 5 km course along the lake, there are checkpoints and marshals along the way to ensure safety.
