The Walkabout Creek Trail Race is a local event organised by Traq - Washpool World Heritage Trails that takes place at Enoggera Reservoir in The Gap, Brisbane. The course winds through stunning landscapes within the d'Aguilar National Park, offering a challenging run with steep hills and a total elevation gain of 450 meters.

The starting point for the event is at the Enoggera Dam Wall, located inside the SEQ Water gates behind the Park 'n Ride at The Gap.
Scheduled for Sunday, 28th April 2024 (TBC), the 2024 Walkabout Creek Trail Race is limited to 180 participants, with a minimum age requirement of 16 years on the day of the race. Participants aged between 16 and 18 must have a parent or guardian sign a waiver to join the event.
Interested runners can register online for the race, choosing between two categories: TRAQ Member or Non-Member. TRAQ Members pay A$49.50 for the 6:30 am wave start, while Non-Members are charged A$55.00. Refunds are available up to two weeks prior to the event, subject to a $20 admin fee.
On race day, participants are advised to carry at least 500ml of water, as there will be no water stations along the course. It's also recommended to ensure proper hydration and nutrition before the race. The event is cup-free, so runners must bring their own water bottle or cup for drinks at the finish line.
After completing the race, participants and volunteers will be treated to morning tea, water, and sports drinks. Coffee will be available for purchase at the finish line to help you recharge. Make sure to explore the Wildlife Centre at Walkabout Creek, home to a variety of Australian animals like wombats, platypus, and rainforest birds.
In terms of parking, space is limited on race day, so organisers encourage car-pooling or getting dropped off at the venue. Parking gates within the SEQwater reserved area will be open from 5:30 am to 6:15 am and again from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. If you plan to stay longer, please consider parking elsewhere or moving your vehicle in time.
