The Pinnacles Classic is a renowned off-road race hosted by Traq - Washpool World Heritage Trails in Brisbane, Australia. Organised by Peter Holles from the Brookfield Runners, this 18km challenge is not for the faint-hearted with its 18 daunting hills along the course. This event, scheduled for May 26, 2024 (date to be confirmed), is a must for runners looking to push their limits. Participants must be at least 18 years old on the day of the race. The entry fee for the Pinnacles Classic is A$65.00, with a discounted rate of A$58.50 for TRAQ Members. Refunds, minus a $20 administration charge, are available up to two weeks before the event. The race is capped at 200 participants, so be sure to secure your spot early. Race day logistics are important; make sure to arrive on time for the briefing and start of the race. It's recommended that participants carry a minimum of 750ml of fluids, and a checkpoint midway through the course will offer water, electrolytes, and lollies. After the race, recharge with post-race refreshments including fruit, bakery treats, water, sports drinks, and coffee. Car-pooling options are available during registration to make getting to the start line at Gold Creek Reservoir easier. The course changes direction every year, offering beautiful views of Brisbane Forest Park (d'Aguillar National Park).
