



“It's All about Feeling Better – Meditation – Yoga – Mindfulness – TRE” is a beautiful and inviting yoga studio and meditation retreat centre located in the rolling hills of Devon, New Zealand. The studio, known as Namaste Barn Yoga & Meditation Studio, has been purpose-built with deep consideration for the planet's resources. It utilises an Air Source heat pump and solar panels to provide clean and green energy for its central and underfloor heating. The studio also boasts a UV philtre borehole water system for pure and refreshing hydration.
At Namaste Barn, the focus is on holistic and authentic yoga practises. The dedicated team, led by Jo Hamilton, offers a wide range of yoga classes, workshops, courses, and retreats to cater to every individual's needs. The yoga classes include breath work Pranayama, Asana yoga postures, meditation, and yoga insight philosophies.
In addition to yoga, Namaste Barn also offers Tension and Trauma Release Exercises (TRE), which is a specialised method for releasing tension and trauma stored in the body. This unique approach supports individuals in finding release from both physical and emotional tension, stress, and trauma. Jo Hamilton, the founder and lead instructor, is an Advanced TRE Trauma Release Practitioner and Mentor, with a deep passion for helping others find harmony, peace, and strength in their lives.
The retreat centre at Namaste Barn provides a serene and rejuvenating environment for individuals to immerse themselves in their yoga and mindfulness practises. The centre offers courses in mindfulness meditation, hatha yoga, neurogenic yoga (yoga with TRE), yin yoga, yoga nidra, and yoga therapy. Retreat participants have the opportunity to engage in 1:1 sessions of TRE, yoga, and mindfulness meditation, tailored to their specific needs and goals.

Jo Hamilton's own journey began in 2006, when she embarked on a quest to restore and recover from the challenges of supporting her son, who has autistic spectrum challenges. Through her personal practise of hatha yoga, TRE, and meditation, Jo found profound healing and a desire to share the gift of these practises with others. She completed her 500+ hours of Yoga Teacher training with the Devon School of Yoga and furthered her studies in India, exploring yoga and meditation at renowned ashrams. Jo's dedication to her craft led her to study with experts in the fields of clinical psychology, restorative yoga, Yoga Nidra, and Yin Yoga, enhancing her ability to support individuals in releasing tension, stress, and trauma.
