Experienced Yoga instructor and meditation guide who welcomes you to the Namaste Barn Yoga and Meditation Studio & Retreat in Newton Abbot. Situated in the picturesque hills of Devon, this purpose-built studio was designed with a deep respect for the environment. It is powered by an Air Source heat pump and solar panels, ensuring clean and green energy for the central and underfloor heating. Additionally, the studio uses UV philtre borehole water, providing a pure and refreshing experience.
At Namaste Barn, the focus is on holistic and authentic yoga practises. Jo and her team offer a variety of yoga classes, workshops, courses, and retreats, as well as Tension and Trauma Release Exercises (TRE) and mindfulness meditation courses. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced yogi, there is something for everyone at Namaste Barn.
Clients who have experienced Jo's teachings and the retreat centre have shared their positive feedback. Jo's personal journey began in 2006 when she embarked on her own path to restore and recover. She found solace and strength in Hatha Yoga, TRE, and meditation, which inspired her to share these healing practises with others. Jo is a highly trained Yoga teacher with over 500 hours of training from the Devon School of Yoga, where she learned from Duncan Hulin and his team of inspiring tutors. She furthered her studies in India, exploring yoga and meditation at Phool Chatti Ashram in Rishikesh and Sivananda Ashram Neyyar Dam in Kerala.
Jo also expanded her knowledge by studying with Dr. Bo Forbes, a clinical psychologist and Yoga therapist, who deepened her understanding of the mind-body connexion. Additionally, she has trained in restorative Yoga with Judith Lasater and Yoga Nidra with Richard Miller and Uma Dinsmore Tuli.
Jo's passion lies in helping individuals release physical and emotional tension, stress, and trauma. She is an Advanced TRE Practitioner and Mentor, specialising in tension release and trauma recovery. Jo's expertise allows her to support individuals in a comfortable and gentle way.
