The Crawley Mariners Yacht Club is excited to introduce the 'Have a Go Racing' sessions for 2024! This new addition is all about relaxed and friendly racing, perfect for both beginners and experienced sailors looking to have some fun on the water.
Participants can look forward to a welcoming environment where parents are encouraged to join in with their kids. A race coach/instructor will be on hand to provide support and answer any questions before the session kicks off. A brief overview of basic rules will also be provided to ensure everyone knows their way around the course and has an understanding of right of way.
Experienced sailors are encouraged to bring their friendly and supportive attitude to the session. If you're looking for a crew, don't worry - arrangements can be made on the day to pair you up with a partner. The session format is flexible, typically consisting of three races lasting around 20 minutes each or two races lasting 30 minutes each. Racing kicks off at 14:30 and wraps up by 16:00.
For those who don't have their own boat, club boats will be available for those with Level 2 or Stage 2 standards, or their equivalent.
