Crawley Mariners Yacht Club (CMYC) is a friendly and welcoming sailing club located in East Grinstead, Sussex. With a well-deserved reputation for being the friendliest dinghy sailing club in the area, CMYC offers a relaxed and inclusive atmosphere for sailors of all levels of experience.

The club is situated on the stunning Hedgecourt Lake, which is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and one of the most important wetland sites remaining in South-East Surrey. The clubhouse and lake are available for use 365 days a year, providing members with ample opportunities to enjoy the water and take part in organised events.

CMYC caters to a variety of sailors, with over 100 different classes of boats to choose from. Whether you're a novice or an experienced sailor, there will be a class of boat to suit your needs. For those who don't own a boat, the club has a number of boats that can be used by members.

In addition to sailing, CMYC also offers instructed kayak sessions for all abilities. These group sessions provide a friendly environment for individuals to develop their flat water kayaking skills.

Membership at CMYC is open to both experienced dinghy sailors and novices who are looking to learn to sail. For inexperienced sailors, the club offers RYA courses usually held in early summer, where you can learn the fundamentals of sailing. Alternatively, informal sessions run by RYA approved Instructors can teach you to sail at Hedgecourt Lake during the monthly Saturday Clubs.

CMYC is proud to deliver training to high RYA standards, and RYA approved sailing courses are run throughout the year. Members also have the opportunity to participate in RYA Powerboat Level 2 courses, equipping them with the skills necessary to perform power boat club duties and support Saturday Clubs.

Racing is a popular activity at CMYC, with a full and varied racing programme. Weekends at Hedgecourt Lake are filled with races, and there are also Wednesday evening series available. The club aims to provide opportunities for all levels of sailors, from beginners to club racers preparing for higher level competitions.

For those interested in cruising, CMYC offers an extensive programme. Though CMYC is a lake-based club, its sailing programme includes cruising in areas such as Chichester and Langstone Harbours, Hillhead in the Solent, and visits to various South Coast sailing clubs.
