Kuo-Deemer, and Leslie Kaminoff, to name a few. These experiences have deepened my understanding of yoga as a holistic practise that encompasses more than just physical postures.
As an acupuncturist, I believe in the power of Traditional Chinese Medicine to restore balance and harmony in the body. I specialise in Five Element Acupuncture, using this ancient system to address the root causes of illness and promote overall well-being. I obtained my BA Honours in Acupuncture from Oxford Brookes University at the College of Traditional Acupuncture in Leamington Spa. Furthermore, I have been licenced to practise since 2008 and continue to expand my knowledge through ongoing training and study with Niki Bilton.
In my pursuit of holistic well-being, I have also delved into the world of Yang Sheng – self-help techniques that empower individuals to take charge of their own health. This includes Chinese Dietary Therapy, acupressure, culinary herbs, and qigong. I have completed courses such as Alex Jacob's Yang Sheng Mastery, Mimi Kuo-Deemer's Five Elements qigong training, and her Qigong Mentorship programme. Currently, I am focusing on the food element of Yang Sheng and am enrolled in a Diploma in Chinese Medicine Nutrition at the Northern College of Acupuncture.
My journey with yoga began later in life, but it has become an integral part of my own well-being and a valuable tool in my practise. I completed my yoga teacher training with Sally Parkes, exploring how yoga can support mental health, manage stress, and promote better sleep. I have had the privilege of training with esteemed teachers such as Donna Farhi, Lisa Petersen, Max Strom, Mimi Kuo-Deemer, and Leslie Kaminoff, expanding my understanding of the profound benefits that yoga offers.
My aim with East to West Wellbeing is to support clients in their journey towards optimal health and provide them with the knowledge and tools to care for themselves. I believe in the power of combining Eastern practises such as acupuncture, qigong, and yoga with the realities of Western life. I understand the pressures of a demanding career and the struggle to find work-life balance. Through my own experiences, I have learned the importance of self-care and compassion, and I strive to impart this wisdom to my clients.
Whether it's through acupuncture sessions, yoga classes, or somatics and qigong practises, I am dedicated to guiding individuals towards a state of well-being and helping them discover what works best for them. With East to West Wellbeing, I aim to bridge the gap between East and West, offering a holistic approach to health and empowering individuals to live their best, most balanced lives.
