Yoga & Sound Bray Park | yogazoh is a private studio located in the beautiful suburb of Bray Park in Brisbane North, offering a unique combination of yoga classes and Singing Ring sound healing sessions. The studio is run by a Japanese yoga instructor and provides a serene and tranquil space for individuals to explore their practise and find inner peace.
At Yoga & Sound Bray Park, they offer beginner-friendly small yoga classes with a maximum of 5 people, ensuring individual attention and guidance. The classes focus on basic asanas (poses) and concentrate on the breath, creating alignment in the body, and fostering a balance between body and mind. Each class concludes with a short sound bath shavasana (resting pose) for ultimate relaxation. Participants are encouraged to bring their own mat, and other props such as yoga blocks, straps, cushions, and bolsters are available for use to support the practise.
The classes are suitable for those new to yoga, individuals who have not practised in a while, or those who prefer a small group setting. The classes take place on Tuesday and Wednesday from 18:00 to 19:00, with a fee of $22. 50 per class. Additionally, if you attend 5 classes within 2 months, you can enjoy a $10 discount for your 6th class.
Singing Ring is a unique musical and healing instrument that originated in Japan. It is infused with crystals and produces a wide range of harmonic overtones, ranging from infrasound to ultrasound. During the Singing Ring Group Sound Bath sessions, participants start with light stretches targeting the neck, shoulders, and back. Afterward, they lie down and are surrounded by the sound dome, as the Singing Ring bowls are placed and played on their back or front body, allowing them to feel the sound and vibration directly.
All necessary props, including mats, blankets, bolsters, cushions, and eye pillows, are provided. The sessions are scheduled for specific dates and times, and the fee is $30 per session. Private group sessions are also available by appointment for up to 4 people.
The Harmonic Sound Lymphatic Drainage sessions are individual sessions that utilise five Singing Ring bowls strategically placed on the body. This session combines Ayurveda and Aromatherapy to help balance the five senses. There are three different types of sessions available, including forest sound for Vata people to slow down and deeply relax, water sound for Pitta people to cool down and experience serenity, and wind sound for Kapha people to refresh and feel lighter. The session begins with a consultation to determine which type is best for the individual.
The session lasts for 90 minutes, with 60 minutes dedicated to the whole-body therapy and 15 minutes for pre and post-session consultation. The fee for this session is $120, and gift vouchers are available.
The studio is operated by a passionate instructor who discovered yoga as a means to find balance amidst her busy full-time working life in Australia and Japan. Initially attracted to the physical aspects of yoga, she soon delved deeper, realising its transformative effects. She took some time off from her own practise but eventually returned, driven to share her knowledge and experience with others. With a warm and welcoming demeanour, she aims to create a supportive and inclusive environment for all students.
