Utilising the NZ Bridge Scorer Programme, the West Otago Bridge Club ensures accurate and efficient scoring of games. Results are currently posted on Bridge NZ's website for easy access. Interestingly, the club shares a Dealing Machine with the Gore Bridge Club, resulting in randomly dealt boards which adds an element of excitement and challenge to each game.
The club plays its games in the RSA rooms located on Northumberland Street in Tapanui. Conveniently situated on the main road/street through the town, the RSA rooms are easily identifiable and accessible. Simply head past the Supermarket and the RSA rooms will be on the right-hand side.
For contact information, individuals can reach out to any of the committee members, who include President Robyn McCall, Vice President Amanda Perkins, Secretary Janine Venz, and Treasurer Liz Van der Linden. The club can also be reached by telephone or email.
The Otago/Southland Regional Bridge Committee plays a crucial role in the organisation and promotion of bridge in the region. While the committee does not directly arrange or organise bridge at the individual club level, it does provide support and resources to affiliated clubs. This includes coordinating tournament schedules, interclub play, and visits from overseas teams. Additionally, the committee serves as a source of experienced advice and guidance for clubs in need.
Overall, the West Otago Bridge Club is a vibrant and welcoming community of bridge enthusiasts. With a wide range of skill levels and a passion for the game, members can enjoy challenging and rewarding games in a supportive and friendly environment.
