John, the organiser of the Southland Mountain Bike Club – Sandy Point Trails wanted to drop a quick note to everyone in our awesome sports community.
The Sandy Point Trails in Sandy Point, NZ are an amazing spot for all mountain biking enthusiasts. The club runs different mountain biking activities, trail building adventures, and social rides that make for a lively group of riders in Southland.
A hot favourite in the club is the organised rides and events all over Southland. Our members get to join weekly rides, like the Ladies Mountainbike club every Wednesday at 6 pm. It’s a brilliant way to meet other riders and enjoy the stunning trails.
The trails at Sandy Point are top-notch in the region, offering a mix of thrilling and challenging rides. Plus, there are tracks in Bluff, Gore, and Te Anau, giving everyone heaps of choices to explore.
Joining the club comes with loads of perks – discounted race entry, access to well-kept tracks and facilities, regular newsletters, and a packed events calendar across the South Island. You also get a say in how the club is run and developed. We’re big on family too, with lots of events that welcome kids and beginners.
Membership is affordable, starting at $15 for unwaged or students, $20 for individuals, and $30 for families or couples. If you're keen to join the Hokinui MTB Club as well, you can do that when signing up.
John encourages everyone to get involved with maintaining and developing the tracks. While it’s not a must, lending a hand or donating towards trail development during registration can be a lot of fun and rewarding.
The Southland Mountain Bike Club – Sandy Point Trails really offers something special. With excellent tracks, regular events, and a family-friendly vibe, it’s a top spot for riders of all ages and abilities.
