The need for personal gain or recognition. Our mission at Uniting Awareness Centre is to create a safe and welcoming space for individuals to explore and deepen their self-awareness through yoga, meditation, and healing practises.

Our centre is led by Channa Dassanayaka, a highly experienced and compassionate yoga instructor. Channa's teaching approach is rooted in inner growth and compassion, providing a space for students to develop their practise and cultivate a sense of unconditional care and support. His teachings are infused with wisdom gathered from his travels around the world, supporting humanitarian projects and retreats.

In addition to Channa's expertise, we are privileged to have Darren Murphy, the founder of Monks Maintenance Services, as a part of our team. Together, Channa and Darren are dedicated to serving and teaching, offering true authentic yoga wisdom in everyday life.

Since our establishment in 2008 in Bastings Street Northcote, we have been committed to supporting the Northcote community. After 10 years in our previous space, we made the decision to relocate and rebuild a new sanctuary studio from scratch. Our new studio, located just two blocks away from our previous location, offers a healing experience like no other.

The Uniting Awareness Centre provides a wide range of classes and programmes that cater to individuals of all levels and abilities. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced practitioner, you will find a class that suits your needs. From yoga and meditation classes to private healing sessions, we offer various options to help you cultivate a healthy mind, body, and spirit.

We are also excited to offer retreats and workshops, providing opportunities for deepening your practise and connecting with like-minded individuals. Our retreats and workshops offer a supportive and nurturing environment for growth and exploration.

Currently, we are running free online yoga and meditation classes every Saturday at 10 am. These classes, taught by both Channa and Darren, are a weekly masterclass that allows you to experience the benefits of yoga and meditation from the comfort of your own home.
