Join Top End Orienteers for a Sunday morning foot orienteering event at Gunn in Palmerston. This amateur event is open to all participants, including newcomers to orienteering. The courses cater to different abilities with Easy, Moderate, and Hard line courses available. You'll be exploring streets, reserves, and bushland areas around the Gunn Escarpment, including Sanctuary Lakes Park. Don't forget your mobile phone with the MapRun app and a 'punch' card for checkpoint visitation. While a compass may come in handy for the Moderate and Hard courses, it's not necessary.
Remember to bring a water bottle, sun protection, walking shoes, comfortable exercise clothes, and a picnic rug with snacks for afterwards. Coaching will be available between 7:30 am and 8:30 am, with the event wrapping up by 11:00 am. After the event, you can unwind in the shade with cold water and fruit provided. The start location is on Ormiston Ct, off Kakadu Parade, off Lakeview Blvd. Just a heads up, there are no Public Toilets at the start, but you can find the closest ones 1km east at Sanctuary Lakes on Lakeview Blvd.
Both cash and electronic payments are accepted for registration. Get ready for a fun-filled day of orienteering with Top End Orienteers!
