Top End Orienteers NT is the premier orienteering club in Darwin, Northern Territory. As the Orienteering Club of the Northern Territory, they offer a wide range of orienteering events in and around Darwin. The club primarily holds events in bushland areas, but also offers a few street events throughout the year. Special orienteering series are also organised in Katherine and Alice Springs.
The club typically hosts one orienteering event each month, usually on the 2nd Sunday of the month, from February to November. These events start in the morning, between 7:00 am and 9:00 am, and finish by 11:00 am. Participants have the opportunity to run, walk, jog, race, push, pedal, punch, search, stroll, and navigate through the courses, covering a total of 3,902 kilometres this year.
In addition to their regular events, Top End Orienteers also offers a range of Do-It-Yourself (DIY) courses that can be downloaded and completed at any time. This provides flexibility for individuals who may not be able to attend the scheduled events. More information and a list of available locations for the DIY courses can be found on their website.
To get involved with Top End Orienteers, individuals can follow them on Facebook and subscribe to their email list to stay updated on upcoming events and club news. Membership fees and documents can also be found on their website.
For further inquiries, individuals can reach out to the club through their postal address: Top End Orienteers PO Box 39152, Winnellie Northern Territory, 0821. General enquiries can be directed to info@teo. Asn. au.
The club also provides a contact form on their website, where individuals can select the appropriate contact and enter their message. Phone numbers are optional, but if provided, the club may choose to contact individuals via phone.
The upcoming event, Christmas Novelty NT Museum, will be held on Sunday, 26 November 2023. Please note that the event date has recently changed. The club is currently seeking volunteers for the event, and anyone interested in helping out can find more information on their website. Online registration for the event is not yet available, but all participants must register online through Orienteering Australia (Eventor) prior to the event.
Top End Orienteers accepts both cash and electronic payments, including Eftpos, Paywave, major credit cards, and NFC smartphones. The course for the event has been planned by Lachlan Hallett, and participants can start between 4:00 pm and 4:30 pm.
Top End Orienteers aims to provide thrilling orienteering experiences that challenge participants' navigation skills while showcasing the beauty of the Northern Territory's natural landscapes.
