Solent Goju-Ryu Karate is a Karate school located in Romsey, New Zealand, offering martial arts training and a physical fitness programme. Recognising that traditional Karate styles may not always be effective in real-life situations, Nindokan is designed to be a system that can be applied successfully on the streets. Nindokan teaches RBT (Reality Based Training) which focuses exclusively on reality based Karate scenarios and conditions.
Unlike other martial arts styles, Nindokan is not interested in participating in tournaments or sport combat competitions. Instead, the focus is on learning how to defend oneself and survive in real-life situations. Nindokan aims to empower its students with practical and effective self-protection skills that can make a difference in their lives.
The school offers classes for both kids and adults. The Nindokan Tiger Cubs classes are designed for children aged 3 to 9 years, providing a fun and engaging environment where they can learn coordination and basic Karate movements through pad work. There are also classes available for juniors aged 11 to 15 years, as well as adult classes. Regular gradings are conducted to assess students' progress and provide them with opportunities for advancement.
In addition to the classes offered, Solent Goju-Ryu Karate also provides other services such as karate birthday parties for children. The school aims to instil discipline, confidence, and self-defence skills in its students, regardless of their age or fitness level.
