T the age of 19, when I stumbled upon a beginner's yoga class in my hometown of Teddington, New Zealand. Little did I know that this serendipitous encounter would ignite a deep passion within me for the practise of yoga.

Over the years, I have delved deeper into the world of yoga, exploring various styles and teachings. I completed my 200-hour Akhanda Yoga Teacher training at the Akhanda Yoga Institute in 2020, expanding my knowledge of yoga philosophy, asanas, pranayama, and meditation. I also received certification in Children Yoga teaching for ages 2-17 from the Anjali Academy in 2021, allowing me to share the joy of yoga with younger generations.

In my pursuit of holistic well-being, I obtained Reiki Level 1 certification from Reiki Master Julia Anastasiou in 2022, deepening my understanding of energy healing and the connexion between body, mind, and spirit. Additionally, I completed a 10-hour Meditation Teacher training at the Anjali Academy and a 50-hour Pranayama Teacher training with Bodsphere, to further enhance my skills in guiding students towards inner peace and harmony.

What sets me apart as a yoga instructor is my emphasis on holistic yoga, incorporating not only physical exercises but also the mental and emotional aspects of the practise. I believe that yoga is a work-in as much as it is a work-out, and I am passionate about sharing yogic tools and teachings that can help my students take care of their entire being.

At Shri Devi Yoga, I offer Akhanda Yoga classes that are accessible to all levels, from absolute beginners to advanced practitioners. My classes feature moderate sequences of familiar postures and breathing techniques, with plenty of modifications offered throughout. I introduce the basic principles of alignment, breath, sound, yogic wisdom, and relaxation, while weaving guiding messages and themes into each class.

My goal is to empower my students to reconnect with their bodies, find their flow, and move with greater ease. I emphasise the use of breath as a tool to uplift and calm the whole system, and provide students with practical tools to enhance their well-being both on and off the mat.

Whether you are new to yoga or have been practising for years, Shri Devi Yoga is a welcoming space for self-discovery and growth.
