Seacroft Wheelers Cycling Club is a friendly cycling group in east Leeds, West Yorkshire. Organised by Chris, the club welcomes cyclists of all levels, from beginners to competitive racers.
The club aims to develop riders' fitness and group riding skills. Each Sunday morning, there’s a social ride leading to a different café, all under the guidance of experienced leaders. These rides cater to beginners, intermediate, and faster riders separately.
Aside from social rides, the Wheelers are active in time trials, road races, and off-road events like cyclo-cross. There are also seasonal Wednesday evening road rides focusing on speed and skills, and Saturday morning rides for cyclists of all levels. For off-road enthusiasts, there’s a local Wednesday evening ride and a longer monthly ride.
The club provides additional coaching on Tuesday and Thursday evenings to further improve skills. Members enjoy several benefits such as guided rides, discovering new routes and cafés, learning from experienced cyclists, club trips, and discounts on British Cycling and Cycling UK membership.
New members can try out the club for free during their first three rides. Ride details are available on the club’s Rides page and Calendar, and regular updates are sent through the Spond app.
In addition to regular rides, Chris organises various events and trips, from riding Tour de France stages and velodrome trips to cycling adventures like the Isle of Man and climbing Mt Ventoux.
