Dancetec's classes take place at Cross Gates Methodist Church Hall, which offers a very spacious room for students to freely express themselves while ensuring their safety. Established in 1997, Dancetec's mission has always been to allow children to learn about dance in a safe and fun environment while also imparting a firm understanding of set techniques across different disciplines. One notable achievement of the school is their 100% pass rate in external examinations for their students. They also actively participate in opportunities to showcase their students' acting skills through charity shows, raising funds for local and national charities such as Mencap, The Pin Project, St Gemma's Hospice, Brake, and St James's Children's Unit.
Leading the team is Tricia Robinson, the principal dance teacher at Dancetec. With over 25 years of teaching experience, Tricia is a life member of the International Dance Teacher's Association and holds Fellowships in both ballet and tap. Tricia is also an experienced festival adjudicator, overseeing regional heats of Miss Dance of Great Britain and Dance Master of Great Britain. In her spare time, Tricia enjoys running, hiking in the mountains, sewing, and reading to relax.
She is also passionate about healthy living and earned her Naturopathic Nutritional Diploma in 2010.
Alyx Robinson, an assistant teacher at Dancetec, is equally passionate about dance. Qualifying as a dance teacher in 2010, Alyx continues to further her studies to ensure she provides the best possible education to her students. She holds an IDTA Associate in ballet and a Licentiate in tap.
