Phoenix SMA was founded in 2012 with just Freestyle TaeKwonDo classes being offered in Hamble and the surrounding area. Over the years, the club has grown significantly and now has over 300 members across four venues and four After School Clubs. In 2017, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes were introduced and quickly gained popularity among members.
The club takes pride in its open-minded approach to teaching and training martial arts, which allows them to network and collaborate with various schools and organisations. Some of their direct associations and affiliations include the Cobra Martial Arts Association, Basingstoke School of Martial Arts, Ippon Gym in Bournemouth, Reading Taekwondo Academy, and Martial Arts Communications (Paraestra UK).
Phoenix SMA also organises annual events like their Summer Camp, providing an opportunity for members to further their martial arts skills in a supportive and engaging environment.
