Petone Central Bowling Club

Tim here from Petone Central Bowling Club, and I wanted to share a bit about what's been happening at our club. We've got a great history rooted in the merger of Petone Bowling Club and Central Bowling Club back in June 2008. If you've been around Wellington, you might remember that Petone Club was set up in 1897 and Central in 1917 – two local legends combining forces, really.

It's been an exciting journey, and recently we even snagged the Bowls Wellington Club of the Year for the 2022-2023 Summer Season. That’s a huge nod to our dedication and the friendly vibe we keep going here.

Our club isn't just about bowls – it's about the community. We have a great team of club officers making sure everything runs smoothly and everyone feels welcome, whether you're just starting or have been playing for years. We’re all about maintaining high standards of play while keeping the fun and camaraderie alive.

You'll find our honours boards filled with the names of members who’ve made their mark over the years, and our gallery gives a glimpse into our rich history and moments of glory. We’re proud of where we’ve come from and where we’re headed.

Besides the competitions and championships, we love our social events. From casual community bowls to lively social galas, there’s always something happening that brings us closer together.

Here’s the lowdown on the fees for the upcoming season:

- Full playing members: $210 (or $200 if paid by 30 September 2021)
- Limited members: $70
- Novice members: $85
- Student members: $90
- Dual members (playing or limited): $210 or $70
- Casual members: $70
- Non-playing members: $20

You can pay in different ways – in person to our treasurer or via internet banking. Just make sure to get your subs in by 30 September 2021, so you’re all set for the season.
