The challenge. The support and guidance from the North Queensland Triathlon Academy made all the difference in my journey to the IRONMAN Australia. The coaches were knowledgeable and dedicated, and they created a personalised training plan that pushed me to reach my full potential. I cannot thank them enough for helping me achieve my goals.

I joined the North Queensland Triathlon Academy with the goal of improving my triathlon performance. The coaches at the academy provided expert guidance and support throughout my training. The North Queensland Triathlon Academy is a sports club located in Townsville, Queensland. Run by a small and dedicated team, the academy aims to provide a supportive and personalised environment for athletes looking to progress in the sport of triathlon.

The academy offers various organised group sessions, including swim squad sessions at Longan Pool starting in January 2021. Additionally, the academy organises team trips to various races, giving athletes the opportunity to compete and challenge themselves in different environments.

Membership at the North Queensland Triathlon Academy is available through the Triathlon Australia site. New memberships are valid from July to July. Existing Triathlon Australia members can also change their details through the site. Joining the club and being a member of Triathlon Australia is more cost-effective than not, offering access to group sessions and other benefits.

The academy welcomes both coached athletes and pay-as-you-go participants in their group sessions. While pay-as-you-go participants cover the cost of facility usage, weekend long rides or brick sessions are always free. These sessions are organised most weekends and cater to different difficulty levels and groups.

For athletes who wish to progress at any level, the academy offers a Senior Squad. This squad is aimed at athletes who already possess basic swimming, biking, and running skills and want to improve and advance in the sport.

In addition to training, the North Queensland Triathlon Academy offers a shop where members can purchase triathlon suits and other gear. Designed by DESIGN LAB 23 and manufactured by Nimblewear, the gear is known for its comfort and high quality.

Overall, the North Queensland Triathlon Academy provides a supportive and personalised environment for triathletes of all levels. With a dedicated team of coaches, organised group sessions, and access to races and events, the academy is committed to helping athletes reach their full potential in the sport of triathlon.
