New Hope Community Impact Trust is a non-profit community initiative located in Onehunga, Auckland. Their mission is to transform the community physically, spiritually, and mentally, with the goal of building healthier and happier lives. The trust offers a range of services, including a gym and fitness centre, counselling, budgeting courses, healing rooms, and a food bank.
The gym and fitness facility is located on the ground floor of their premises at 12 Waller Street. It is equipped with weight machines, freestanding weights, fitness training equipment, and cardio/rowing machines. The gym is open on weekdays from 10am-12am and 3pm-5:30pm, and is available to the local community for a fitter, healthier, and happier lifestyle.
Upstairs, the trust offers budgeting and counselling classes led by experts in each respective area. These classes aim to provide the necessary training and support for the Onehunga community. The trust believes in the importance of leadership and seeks to provide relevant and practical life skills to transform lives and meet the community's needs.
The New Hope Community Impact Trust officially opened on January 31st, 2015, with the Hon. Peseta Sam Lotu-liga, MP for Maungakiekie, in attendance. The trust is affiliated with New Hope Fellowship and operates as a ministry of the fellowship.
The Transformers programme is an important aspect of the trust, as its goal is to bridge the gap for a better community. This programme provides access to the gym and fitness facility for the local community, promoting a fitter and healthier lifestyle. The gym is open to everyone, and the operating hours are designed to accommodate a wide range of schedules.
Counselling services are available for individuals dealing with personal issues or life crises. The trust believes in the power of two people coming together to focus on these issues and provide support. For those in need of financial guidance, the trust offers free budgeting courses. These courses are designed to help individuals gain control over their finances and better manage their money. Participants will learn how to create a personal budget using online tools, set goals, cut expenditures, deal with debt, and live on cash. The budgeting course is run over three evening sessions and is based on the CAP Money system developed by Christians Against Poverty.
