Move Forward

Move Forward is a wellness studio located in Totnes, New Zealand. It is a space dedicated to promoting overall well-being through the practise of yoga and other movement arts. The studio's mission is to reconnect the mind and body, providing a learning space as well as a movement space for individuals of all ages and abilities.

At Move Forward, there is a wide variety of classes and workshops available, catering to different interests and skill levels. Some classes offered include Acro Yoga with Adam and Natalie, Ashtanga Yoga with Natalie, and many more. The studio also plans to host Acro Yoga and Yoga retreats in the future, providing a unique opportunity for participants to immerse themselves in a holistic wellness experience.

The studio believes in the power of thoughtful and reflexive yoga, which promotes not only physical well-being but also mental and emotional wellness. Natalie, the founder and lead instructor at Move Forward, is a movement artist with a passion for teaching and supporting others in their movement and mindset development. She believes in the importance of alignment and injury prevention, ensuring that students feel safe and supported in their practise. Natalie's journey in movement began with contemporary dance, but it was through her exploration of Ashtanga Yoga that she discovered a new way of life. She completed her 200-hour Yoga teacher training in Goa, India and has further expanded her knowledge through courses in Yoga therapy and Acro Yoga.

Natalie's teaching approach emphasises achievement and motivation, empowering students to explore their own capabilities and trust their bodies. She aims to foster self-awareness and a deep connexion between the mind and body through mindfulness, meditation, self-care, pranayama, and movement. By understanding their own feelings and bodies, students can learn how to support themselves in their everyday lives.
