Moorgate Fishery, nestled in Horwich, Bolton, welcomes anglers of all ages and skills to enjoy a peaceful fishing environment. Kevin and Christopher run the club, offering memberships that cater to everyone, from adults and OAPs to juniors aged 12 to 16.
As a member, you can invite guests to fish with you. Guest fees are £7.50 for one rod and £10 for two rods, with night fishing available at £15 for 24 hours. Remember, guests need to pre-book at least 24 hours in advance.
Moorgate Fishery has rules to keep everyone safe and protect the fish. Anglers may use up to two rods but must use barbless hooks and avoid nut baits and fixed rigs. Carp care equipment and large unhooking mats are required. Nets must be disinfected and rinsed properly, and keepnets are not allowed. Fish must be returned immediately after unhooking, and carp should be handled with a sling or zip mat.
Children aged 12 to 16 must fish with an adult, and night fishing is for those over 18. Keep the fishery clean by avoiding litter and not climbing the lake fence. Only bivvys and fishing ovals are allowed overnight – no tents or BBQs. Non-compliance with the rules may lead to expulsion.
For security, no one may enter or leave during darkness. Keep the gate closed, and alcohol is allowed in moderation while drugs are entirely banned. Kevin and Christopher take no liability for any losses or damages on the site.
