Matt Fiddes discovered his talent for martial arts at the age of seven, after experiencing bullying in school. By the age of twelve, he had already achieved his Black Belt. With just 100 in savings, Matt opened the first Matt Fiddes Martial Arts School in Barnstaple, North Devon at the young age of sixteen. Within a short period of time, the school gained over 700 members and became the largest martial arts school in the UK.

Thanks to Matt's unique life skill and educational programmes, the Matt Fiddes brand has grown exponentially over the years. There are currently over 1500 Matt Fiddes Martial Arts Schools across the UK/Europe, including Ireland, Germany, Holland, Australia, and South Africa. Matt himself holds a 7th Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and Black Belts in Kickboxing and Kung Fu.

In addition to martial arts, Matt Fiddes has also ventured into the world of dance with “MF Dance,” offering street dance programmes worldwide. He has collaborated with Boxercise and Kick boxercise, which has led to the opening of over 2000 new Matt Fiddes locations in 54 countries.

As the Managing Director of the Matt Fiddes Group, Matt oversees the successful franchise brand that offers fitness, self-defence, and personal safety classes to hundreds of thousands of people globally. His expertise and success have also attracted celebrity clients, including the late Michael Jackson, whom he served as a personal bodyguard and friend for over a decade.

Matt Fiddes himself has gained international recognition for his expertise in the field of martial arts and self-defence. He has provided expert advice and served as a bodyguard and self-defence consultant, including offering advice on the Kim Kardashian robbery in Paris in 2016. He has appeared on major TV stations and has been featured in newspapers and magazines worldwide.

Beyond martial arts and dance, Matt Fiddes has also dedicated his time to giving back to the community. He has worked with injured servicemen and women at the Headley Court rehabilitation centre and launched the NOBULL anti-bullying campaign, which received significant support across the UK and internationally. Matt sits on the board of advisors for the Worldwide Martial Arts Teachers Association (MATA) and has been inducted into the UK Martial Arts Hall of Fame, European Martial Arts Hall of Fame, and Italian Martial Arts Hall of Fame.
