Are you the owner of MahaDevi Yoga Centre?

Strength, flexibility, and coordination, enhances body awareness, builds self-esteem, and promotes relaxation and mindfulness.
At MahaDevi Yoga Centre, we are committed to making yoga accessible to all individuals, regardless of their abilities or circumstances. Our registered charity organisation, with a charity number of 1177960, focuses on empowering people of all abilities through yoga. We are proud to be the first yoga centre in Europe dedicated specifically to offering Yoga for the Special Child – the original Special Yoga Method developed by Sonia Sumar, a pioneer in yoga for children and adults with additional and/or complex needs and disabilities.
To ensure that our services are accessible to everyone, we offer the first one-on-one therapeutic yoga session for free. After that, we operate on a sliding scale, based on need, to ensure that lower-income families can access our services at little or no cost. We also offer a range of free group activities, including our girls club, mixed abilities classes, wheelchair users group class, arts and crafts, drum and yoga club, and monthly yoga and nature walks.
In addition to our therapeutic yoga sessions, we also offer regular yoga classes for adults. When you attend a class with us, 50% of what you give goes to the MahaDevi Fund, which supports families who cannot afford a therapy session for their child. Your practise goes a long way in supporting our charitable work and making a difference in someone's life.
MahaDevi Yoga Centre also provides specialised yoga teacher trainings in Yoga for Additional or Complex Needs. Our therapeutic yoga sessions are open to individuals of all ages with a wide range of conditions, including Autism, Down's Syndrome, Epilepsy, Prader-Willi Syndrome, ASD, ADD, ADHD, D/B, DHH, eye impediments, ME, Sciatica, Cerebral palsy, speech impediments, Hemiplegia, behaviour challenges, wheelchair users, and many more. Our therapeutic yoga practitioners have been directly trained by Sonia Sumar, the founder of Yoga for the Special Child.
If you are interested in becoming a yoga instructor specialising in working with individuals with additional and/or complex needs, we invite you to join our unique and specialised Yoga Teacher Training Programme, “Yoga for The Special Child – Sonia Sumar Method. ” This programme, developed over 50 years ago, is the original and pioneering yoga therapy method for individuals with additional and/or complex needs. By training with us, you will learn from the source and receive support and guidance from Sonia Sumar, a worldwide recognised senior yoga teacher with over 50 years of experience.
At MahaDevi Yoga Centre, we believe that every person can benefit from yoga, regardless of their challenges in life. The Yoga for the Special Child Method is a safe, gentle, and highly effective practise that improves muscle strength, flexibility, coordination, body awareness, self-esteem, and promotes relaxation and mindfulness. We are dedicated to empowering individuals and providing them with the tools to enhance their well-being, confidence, and overall quality of life through the practise of yoga.
