Lovely Yoga is a well-established yoga instructor based in Lostwithiel, Cornwall. Run by Emma Mansfield, who has over 30 years of teaching experience, Lovely Yoga offers a regular programme of classes and workshops in Lostwithiel and St Austell.
Emma Mansfield is an accredited yoga teacher and is registered with The British Wheel of Yoga. She ensures the safety of her students by holding up-to-date First Aid and Enhanced DBS certificates, along with having 10m public liability insurance. The main studio space, known as The Oasis Studio, is located at the back of Lostwithiel Community Centre. Lovely Yoga also holds classes at The Keay Studio, situated in St Austell. These dance studios at Cornwall College are warm, light, and well-ventilated, offering a comfortable environment for practise. Students are asked to bring their own mats, and a variety of props like bolsters, belts, bricks, blocks, and yoga blankets are supplied as per the theme of the class. Ample changing space, toilets, and free parking are available, with St Austell's mainline station just a 10-minute walk away.
One of the unique offerings at Lovely Yoga is Somatics. These classes have gained immense popularity among students, with many describing them as “life-changing. ” Through somatic movement education, these classes provide profound relief from pain and reconnect individuals to their body and the felt sense. Students are guided through somatic exercises that release muscles and joints, working from the feet up to the head.
Various props are utilised to release, re-awaken, and massage the skin and fascial network of connective tissues.
Another class offered by Lovely Yoga is Step For Strength, which is known for being fun and uplifting. These classes not only provide a great workout for the body but also boost the spirits with lively music and an upbeat atmosphere. Students can choose to use a step bench or do the same routines on the floor. The classes include a thorough warm-up, different routines to build and sustain the heart rate, coordination exercises, and strength training for the legs and arms.
Hand-weights are used, and a section on the floor targets the arms, legs, chest, back, and abdominal muscles. The classes conclude with a relaxing stretch down.
