Having suffered from chronic back pain for many years and trying various treatments, I turned to Pilates in search of relief. I quickly realised that Pilates offered much more than just core strength and posture improvement. It increased my awareness of alignment, breath, core engagement, and overall body movement. However, I also discovered that my body couldn't perform certain movements the way I desired.

That's when I found Intrinsic Biomechanics and learned why my body was compensating and moving incorrectly.

At JMM Pilates Plus, I combine the knowledge of Intrinsic Biomechanics and iMoveFreely to provide comprehensive Pilates classes that help your body function at its best.

Pilates is a physical fitness system developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century. It focuses on developing strength, stability, mobility, muscular endurance, coordination, balance, and good posture with a lower risk of injury compared to other exercises.

In addition to group Pilates classes, JMM Pilates Plus offers personal 1-on-1 coaching and individual intrinsic biomechanic screenings at the studio in Hollybush, Ayr. These private sessions aim to identify any movement restrictions within your own body and work on specific exercises to improve your overall movement.
