At iJudo Club, individuals of all ages and abilities are welcome, whether they are first timers or advanced students. Judo, an Olympic sport and martial art originating from Japan over 100 years ago, is the primary discipline taught at the club. Judo emphasises throws, pins, and submission holds, while excluding kicks and punches. Besides being a practical form of self-defence, Judo is also an excellent form of exercise that enhances overall conditioning, fitness, and coordination.
During the initial training period, it is normal for students to feel overwhelmed by the unfamiliar terminology and body movements. However, over the first few months, students will be introduced to the basics of Judo, including falls, throws, pins, and grappling techniques. Classes encompass various components such as stretching, conditioning exercises, Judo skill training, and basic Judo knowledge.
In addition to physical benefits, Judo has a positive impact on individuals' mental and emotional well-being. The sport develops confidence, self-esteem, focus, body awareness, and coordination. It also instils values such as respect, discipline, and interpersonal skills. Moreover, Judo's fundamental principles can be applied to other sports like AFL, Rugby League, and Soccer, enhancing performance and skill in those areas.
iJudo Club aims to foster a warm and family-friendly atmosphere. With classes ranging from beginners to advanced levels, the club caters to children and adults alike. Individuals seeking self-defence skills, increased self-confidence, improved strength and fitness, enhanced respect and discipline, better coordination and motor development skills, increased flexibility, balance, posture, and improved interpersonal skills can all benefit from Judo training at iJudo Club.
