Green Acres Country Club, located in West Plains, offers golfers one of the best golfing experiences in Southland. Designed and built by the late Mr Charlie Emerson in 1969, this 18-hole parkland course is situated on relatively flat land and is only a 10-minute drive from the Invercargill city centre.
The course itself provides a pleasure to play, with firm fairways that remain in excellent condition throughout the year. Golfers will also encounter a few strategically placed water hazards and beautifully manicured greens, adding an extra challenge to their game. Whether you're a casual player or looking to join in club competitions, visitors are welcome to enjoy a round of golf.
Greenacres Country Club also boasts an extensive golf shop, stocked with a wide range of equipment from top brands. Golfers can find everything they need to enhance their game right here. Adjacent to the shop, you'll find the Greenacres Driving Range, featuring 18 all-weather bays that protect you from the elements as you practise your swing.
Membership at Greenacres Country Club is available in various options. The annual subscriptions for the 2022/2023 season include full playing memberships for men and women at $725. There are also options for different age groups, such as 22–29 years old, 18–21 years old, and junior members aged 15–17 years old.
Additional membership classes include school pupil members under the age of 15, country members who reside outside a 20-kilometre radius from the clubhouse and are full members of another golf club, associate members who receive an NZGA Handicap and certain rounds of golf at Greenacres, summer/winter members who hold memberships during specific periods of the year, 9-hole members, tertiary members who are full-time students at a tertiary institution, and beginner members who are new to the sport or have not held a membership before.
Whichever membership option you choose, Greenacres Country Club offers a warm and inclusive community of golfers. Members have access to all privileges and the opportunity to hold official positions within the club. They also have voting rights at General and Annual meetings.
