Gravity Yoga UK is an aerial studio located in Kettering, Northamptonshire. Founded by Samantha, a fully qualified, insured, and experienced yoga, pilates, and aerial teacher, the studio offers a variety of classes including Yoga Trapeze, Aerial Yoga, Aerial Pilates, Mat-based Yoga, Pilates, Flexibility, and Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) Yoga and Pilates.
Samantha's journey to opening Gravity Yoga started after she had a spinal fusion following a serious accident that left her unable to walk. Seeking a healthier lifestyle and exercise programme to maintain a healthy and strong spine, she studied, practised, and taught in Barcelona at Yogabody Yoga Teachers College before opening Gravity Yoga in 2017. She holds a 200-hour Teacher Training Diploma and a 50-hour Yoga Trapeze Qualification from Yogabody, as well as additional aerial training from Aerial Yoga Academy and Spin City.
The classes at Gravity Yoga are scientifically based around strengthening, flexing, and relaxing the body while ensuring participants have as much fun as possible. The studio's unique approach to aerial yoga and pilates defies gravity, using it for traction in the air classes and as a way to naturally deepen poses in the earth classes. With more than 300 hours of training in floor-based yoga, pilates, flexibility, and barre, Samantha is well-equipped to guide participants in their practise.
In addition to studio-based classes, Gravity Yoga also offers floating yoga and pilates sessions in collaboration with local SUP schools. Samantha is a qualified SUP yoga and pilates teacher, allowing participants to take their practise to the water.
It's worth noting that while yoga, trapeze, and aerial sessions can offer numerous benefits, they may not be advisable for some medical conditions. Samantha encourages potential participants to check with her before booking sessions to ensure suitability and safety.
Gravity Yoga has gained recognition beyond its local community, having appeared on Channel 4's “Trip Hazard: My Great British Adventure” with celebrities Rosie Jones and Lady Leshurr. The studio also provides indoor group classes, workshops, experience days, and private one-on-one tuition.
