James, the organiser at Gloucester Little Ducklings Swim School, wants to share a quick update with the sports community.
James has been running the swimming school in Cheltenham since 1995. Located at Sir Thomas Rich's School in Longlevens, the school offers lessons for children aged 4 and up.
The motto at Little Ducklings is simple: “Swimming is fun... They love to swim. We love to teach.” The focus is on creating a friendly and relaxed atmosphere where kids can enjoy learning to swim.
The school has a programme for all abilities, from beginners (Ducklings) to more advanced swimmers (Mallards). To keep things safe and fun, class sizes are kept small, and there's a good staff-to-pupil ratio. All the kit is provided, so kids just need to turn up ready to learn.
Lessons are held on Monday to Thursday, and details are available on their website under “Swim Times.” Kids aged 4 and above can join, and no prior swimming experience is needed for beginners.
The Ducklings stage is all about getting kids comfortable in the water through games and fun activities. By the end of this stage, kids aim to swim 5 metres with aids on both their front and back.
Once kids complete the Ducklings stage, they move to Stage 1/2. Here, they work on swimming without aids and start learning arm actions for different strokes, including front crawl and backstroke.
In Stage 3, the focus is on swimming 10 metres, picking up objects from the pool floor, and learning log rolls. By Stage 4, kids practice different floating shapes, kicking in various strokes, and other advanced techniques.
James and the team at Gloucester Little Ducklings Swim School are committed to providing top-notch swim lessons in a safe and enjoyable setting. For more info or to enrol, you can contact James on 01242 526067 or visit their website.
