Feathers Performance Academy in Milton Keynes is all about helping badminton players improve their skills and achieve their goals. Scott Carter, a Level 3 certified coach and top-ranked player in England, leads the academy. Whether you're a beginner or already competing, Scott's team offers quality training for everyone.
When Scott took over six years ago, there were only 30 students. Now, Feathers Performance Academy has grown to over 130 members. Players start competing in tournaments from the U11 age group, with many participating in events across the country.
The academy offers two main training pathways: social/club sessions and tournament training. Club sessions are on Friday evenings and Sunday mornings for those who enjoy a relaxed game. Tournament training is more intensive, running from Monday to Thursday evenings and on Sunday afternoons.
Young children aged 3–6 can join a fun, hour-long session on Sunday mornings to learn the basics of badminton. All training takes place at the well-equipped Stantonbury Leisure Centre.
Scott is supported by experienced coaches Tom Stanford and Louis Bowman, both Level 2 certified, as well as Keith Carter, Lisa Curtin, and Nathiran Rajamohan. They all contribute to the growth and development of the academy’s players.
Feathers Performance Academy runs training sessions throughout the week, with 5 courts available at Stantonbury Leisure Centre. Membership fees start from £80 per month for one session per week. Players are assessed during a trial session to ensure they're placed in the right group. All coaches are qualified through Badminton England, ensuring high standards and safety.
The academy also prides itself on giving players plenty of opportunities to compete, from County tournaments to Badminton England events starting from age 9.
