Located in Worcester, DP Boxing is the go-to gym for all boxing enthusiasts. With a focus on fully inclusive coaching, DP Boxing is dedicated to the success and well-being of every student, regardless of their reason for participating. The gym provides top-notch platforms for students to compete on the best shows across the country.
DP Boxing prides itself on its clear, precise, and concise coaching methods. As one of the fastest growing boxing clubs in the country, DP Boxing's fight team boasted an impressive 89% win ratio throughout 2022. With the home of TOP Promotions, 2023 is set to be a big year for boxing events featuring DP Boxing's own fighters of all ages and skill sets.
At DP Boxing, it is important for everyone to arrive ahead of time and with the intention of learning. All participants are expected to give their best effort and closely follow the instructions of the trainers. Whether you are a pay-as-you-go participant or an active member, signing in at the desk upon arrival is mandatory. Memberships must be paid on time through the convenient Go Cardless platform.
After signing in, participants should proceed to the changing area and leave their bags and personal belongings in the designated area. Each student is encouraged to come with the intention of improving themselves and helping others to improve. Working effectively with fellow students is highly valued at DP Boxing.
Appropriate sports clothing should be worn during sessions. While new students can borrow gloves for their first couple sessions, it is recommended that everyone brings their own equipment for hygiene and safety reasons. Minimum equipment requirements include boxing gloves (16oz for adults, 12-16oz for youths, and 8-10oz for children), hand wraps, and a mouthpiece. Those wanting to progress to sparring will need additional gear such as a head guard, 16oz gloves, groyne protection, and chest protection for females.
Respecting the facility and everyone in it is of utmost importance at DP Boxing. The facility should be treated with care, and all coaches and fellow students should be treated with respect. At the end of each class, it is expected that participants take away all their items and ensure the areas they have used are cleared and tidy. Any equipment left behind will be stored for a week before being disposed of.
Hygiene is a priority at DP Boxing. If any student has bled during training, they should clean and sanitise the areas they have used to a high standard. It is also essential to inform the lead coach. Water and other sports-related drinks can be purchased at the club, but chewing gum is strictly banned within the gym premises.
Students at DP Boxing represent the club even outside the gym, so good behaviour is vital. Under no circumstances should there be any sparring without an authorised supervising coach present. If there are any issues or queries, Jon DP Shaw, the contact person at DP Boxing, can be reached at the provided phone number.
In addition to adult boxing classes, DP Boxing offers specialised classes for children (4–9 years), youths (10–15 years), ladies (12 years and above), and a Sunday service for those aged 14 and above.
