Dave from Colney Heath Football Club here, just sharing a note to the brilliant sports community we've got in St Albans. You might already know us as "The Magpies" over at Colney Heath FC, nestled right here in our charming village, but it's good to keep everyone in the loop!
Our club's journey started way back in 1907, and although we might not have deep pockets like some of the bigger non-league clubs, the passion and drive here are second to none. We're all about pushing boundaries and making waves in every competition we join.
We believe in bringing people together and love the support from locals and businesses around St Albans. With a professional approach on and off the pitch, we keep things running smoothly across our three senior men's teams, two ladies' teams, and bustling youth squads.
Teamwork is our game, both on the pitch and in the clubhouse. It's all about respect, trust, and looking out for each other. And we don't just kick a ball around – we enjoy a good social event too, making sure there's always something happening at the club.
For those who follow us online, our match reports and updates are a must-see. Our First Team recently clinched a 1-0 victory against Cockfosters, the U18's bested Heybridge Swifts U18's 3-0, and we had a cracking live music night with the 88's. With fixtures for teams of all ages, and even a match set between St Albans Primary Schools Rep Side and Aylesbury Vale Dynamos, there's always action to catch.
A big shoutout to our new club sponsor, Davall Gears Limited of Welham Green – your support means the world to us. And a special cheer for our U13's, crowned Division Two Champions! We're also on the lookout for keen players for our U13, U14, U15, and U16 EJA teams.
Our First Team's managed by Matt Day, with Tommy Burns as his right-hand man. Backed by Steve McCarthy (coach), Adam Wallace (fitness coach), and Dan Ypey (GK coach), they're in good hands. Richard Batson runs the Ladies' First Team, who competes in the Beds & Herts Women's League, with Jack Middleton as his assistant.
Last but not least, our Under 23's team is expertly managed by Glenn Tuffnell, with Paul O'Hare and Andy stepping in as coaches.
