Jamie, the organiser of Buscot Park Archers, wishes to share some information with the sports community about the club.
Buscot Park Archers, based in Faringdon, south-west Oxfordshire, is a dynamic and engaging archery club with around 80 members. The club welcomes everyone, from beginners to highly skilled archers. Members have a wide range of equipment, from traditional medieval-style longbows to modern compound bows.
Archery is a family-friendly sport, and Buscot Park Archers encourages people of all ages to join. The club offers beginner courses, providing all necessary instruction. Details about these courses are available on the club's Courses page.
The club's shooting schedule changes with the seasons. In the summer, members can shoot on Wednesday and Friday evenings from 6:00 PM until dusk, and all day on Sundays. During the rest of the year, shooting is on Sunday mornings. The target archery field is open at other times, as long as the club's safety rules are followed.
In winter, the club moves indoors to Faringdon Leisure Centre, ensuring members can continue practising even in colder weather.
Buscot Park Archers is affiliated with Archery GB, the UK's national governing body for archery, ensuring high standards of safety and coaching.
Junior archers (eight years or older) are welcome, provided they are accompanied by a parent or guardian. The club supports young archers in developing their skills and passion for the sport.
For more information, including contact details and location, visit the club’s website or reach out directly. Membership fees and renewal information are also on the website, along with a gallery of the club’s activities.
Jamie invites both seasoned archers and newcomers to join Buscot Park Archers, offering a welcoming community for archery enthusiasts in Faringdon and the surrounding areas.
