With over 15 years of coaching experience, the club is led by Cal Charge, a highly respected and accomplished head coach with a proven track record of success.

Cal Charge has dedicated his career to making a positive impact on all levels of basketball, from grassroots to professional. His ability to connect with players and produce remarkable results has become the foundation of his training approach. Over the years, Cal has helped numerous athletes reach their goals, including Lily Carmody, who went from a junior career to playing in the WNBL at the age of 16, and Isla Airey, who made the U16 and U18 VIC State Teams. His expertise has also led Ryan Lethlean to make the Australian Goannas Squad in 2023, among many other success stories.

Private training is a key aspect of Basketball Mentors INC, where Cal has honed his expertise in skill development over the past 8 years. With a focus on delivering enjoyable and high-quality sessions, Cal ensures that each athlete experiences short-term improvements and long-term benefits. Currently, he coaches over 30 athletes in private sessions each week, providing personalised attention and guidance to help them elevate their game.

In addition to private training, Basketball Mentors INC also offers group training sessions known as “academy” sessions. These sessions provide a competitive and engaging environment for athletes to enhance their skills. With a maximum of 5 athletes per group, participants receive personalised attention and valuable feedback to become fundamentally sound players who can make a significant impact on the game. Due to high demand, Saturday Academy sessions are currently fully booked, but opportunities for the next term are opening up soon.

For young athletes looking to improve their skills during school holidays, Basketball Mentors INC organises elite skill development clinics for representative and domestic level players. These clinics not only focus on skill development but also provide the opportunity to meet and be trained by professional players. Previous clinics have featured Australian Opals Kristy Wallace and Anneli Maley, Commonwealth Games medallists Mareena Whittle and Bec Cole, and NBL players such as Adam Ballinger, Tom Wilson, and Owen Odigie.
