Southern United Hockey Club (Brighton pitch) is a hockey club located in Brighton East, Victoria. With a rich history and a strong presence in the local hockey community, the club offers a range of opportunities for players of all ages and skill levels.

For men looking to try out for the leading League and reserves teams, training begins on Tuesday, January 23rd. All are welcome to join in for the first four weeks of training, which will take place from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM. The club provides a welcoming and encouraging atmosphere for newcomers and experienced players alike.
The 2024 season dates have been announced, with the leading League playing 22 rounds and the other senior teams playing 18 rounds. The junior full field teams will compete in 14 rounds of play. Southern United Hockey Club offers a range of teams for juniors, including under 8 and under 10 venue-based competitions, as well as a three-tier competition for under 12–16 players.
In exciting news, several players from Southern United have been selected for the 2024 Australian Under 21 Championships. The men's and women's teams are part of the newly restructured top league, which features twelve teams. This restructure has allowed for the addition of an extra team for the women, bringing their total to six teams.
The club also takes pride in its development programmes, such as the Hockey Victoria player academy. This programme provides players with the opportunity to enter the state team selection process. Southern United has had many players selected to participate in the academy, highlighting the club's commitment to nurturing talent at a young age.
Southern United Hockey Club has a strong presence in national squads as well. Two players, Josie Lawton and Rene Hunter, have been selected for the 2024 Women's National Development Squad. Additionally, three of the club's athletes, Amy Lawton, Nathan Ephraums, and Craig Marais, have been chosen for the Hockeyroos and Kookaburras squads for the upcoming Paris Olympics.
The club is also proud of its achievements in recent competitions. The HC Melbourne, which includes many Southern United players, finished in third position in the latest season. Their hard-fought semi-final game against Brisbane Blaze demonstrating the team's determination and skill.
