Ansty Football Club, located in Haywards Heath, has a rich history dating back to 1958 when it first began its senior football journey. After a period of reform in 2002, the club has experienced significant growth and success, progressing through various divisions from Division 6 to Division 1. Along the way, the club has secured several trophies, including the Sommerville Challenge Cup and the Edgar German Cup. What sets Ansty Football Club apart is the dedication and commitment of its players, many of whom have been involved with the club since its inception.
In the upcoming 2023-24 season, the club's first team will compete in Division 2 North of the Mid-Sussex League. Building on their 6th position in the previous season, they aim to advance further in cup competitions. Although falling short in the semi-finals of the Stubbins Cup and the quarter-finals of the Somerville Cup in the 2022-23 campaign, the team is determined to make a strong comeback.
Excitingly, the club's ambition to reform its second eleven will come to fruition in the 2023-24 season. The newly-formed second team will compete in Division 4 South of the Mid-Sussex League. The club is grateful for the support of its sponsor, PNC Business Credit, who has provided both teams with high-quality home and away kits.
Training is an integral part of the club's development, and they welcome players of all skill levels. Pre-season training will commence from July to August, taking place at Deaks Lane, Ansty, every Wednesday evening from 6. 30 pm to 8. 30 pm, followed by some socialising in the bar.
Grass pitches will be used for these sessions, and participation is free of charge.
Once the season begins in September, training will shift to St Pauls Catholic College 3G pitch, Jane Murray Way, Burgess Hill, RH15 8GA. These Wednesday night sessions, lasting from September to April, will be held from 7. 00 pm to 8. 30 pm, also followed by some time in the bar.
The use of floodlit 3G pitches necessitates a fee of 5. 00 per session.
Ansty Football Club prides itself on its welcoming and inclusive environment. They encourage anyone interested in joining the club, regardless of their experience, to attend training sessions. The camaraderie among the players is exceptional, and new members are sure to feel a sense of belonging. The club offers excellent facilities and extends a warm invitation to teams on the verge of disbanding or transitioning from youth leagues to consider Ansty as their new home.
