Aldersbrook Horses & Ponies, now known as Wanstead Community Riding Stables CIC, is a horse riding school and equestrian centre located in East London. Founded by Ida Thorne in 1973, our goal has always been to create a community hub where people and horses can come together.
Situated on Empress Avenue, our facility has undergone continuous development over the years to become the well-equipped and beautiful riding centre it is today. After a four-year break, Ida is thrilled to welcome everyone back to the riding school, now under her management with qualified instructors.
At Wanstead Community Riding Stables, we boast highly qualified instructors, Julie and Chey, who have a combined experience of over 45 years in teaching people to ride. They are delighted to be back and are committed to providing top-notch riding experiences for people of all ages and skill levels.
We offer a range of riding activities, including drop-in sessions tailored for children under 8 years old, as well as exhilarating hacks around the local parks and Wanstead Flats. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced rider, young or old, we have something to suit your needs and preferences.
As a licenced riding school by the London Borough of Redbridge, you can trust in our commitment to safety and quality. Please note that our licence number is LAK-077675. Additionally, it's important to clarify that we are not affiliated with Steve Kiley or Aldersbrook Riding School.
