Welcome to Aikido Shinryukan, the largest Aikikai Aikido organisation in New Zealand. We are dedicated to promoting a non-aggressive, non-competitive Japanese martial art. At Aikido Shinryukan, we believe in creating a friendly and inclusive environment where students can build confidence and improve coordination.
Whether you are a beginner looking to experience the fun of your first class or an experienced practitioner seeking to meet like-minded individuals, our dojos are welcoming to all. We invite you to join us and become a part of our community.
One of the highlights of our school is the upcoming celebration of Shihan Nobuo Takase's 50th Anniversary in 2020. This international Gasshuku event will feature a range of workshops and demonstrations that you won't want to miss. Additionally, we will also be celebrating Aikido Shinryukan's 54th Anniversary International Gasshuku in 2024 from Friday 1 to Sunday 3 March.
To participate in our classes and events, you can become an annual member and pay your training fees online. We offer memberships for both children and adults, as well as workshop fees. Visit our website to find out more details and make payments conveniently.
Aikido is a martial art that not only improves physical fitness but also focuses on posture, coordination, self-confidence, relaxation, and fluidity in movement. Suitable for all ages and genders, Aikido offers a fun and rewarding learning experience.
We have Aikido Training Centres located throughout Auckland and New Zealand. Feel free to visit any of our dojos and try out your first class. To participate in the examinations, please ensure you speak with your local Dojo Head and that your Shinryukan Annual Membership for the current year is up-to-date.
