Veils of Arabia Belly Dance

Veils of Arabia Belly Dance is a sports club located in the Gladstone Regional area. They offer beginner belly dance classes that are set to start on July 10th and 11th. The club provides a unique and exotic journey for individuals who are interested in learning belly dance movements and rhythms that have been shared among women throughout time and across continents.

Classes are held during school terms in both Benaraby and Gladstone. They offer performances for all occasions and also provide costuming options such as jewellery and costumes. Veils of Arabia Belly Dance values creativity and self-expression through dance. The club encourages individuals to embrace their femininity and explore the art of belly dance.

The club offers different pricing options for their classes. The beginner adult classes cost $70 per term or $15 for the first lesson and $11 per lesson thereafter. For children under 12, the cost is $60 per term or $9 per lesson. For minors under 8, the cost is $45 per term or $8 per lesson.

They also offer beyond beginner/intermediate classes at $55 per term or $11 per lesson.

In these classes, participants will learn correct posture for belly dance and fundamental movements such as shimmy, camel, travelling steps, and figure 8’s. Additionally, dancers will have the opportunity to learn how to dance with performance props like veils throughout the year. The club aims to provide a fun and engaging learning experience through choreography and group activities.

Belly dance is an inclusive form of dance that accommodates women of all shapes, sizes, ages, and fitness levels. It offers various benefits such as promoting happiness, weight loss, muscle toning, core strength development, stability, flexibility, and hand-eye coordination. Veils of Arabia Belly Dance believes that every woman can be graceful and beautiful while belly dancing, regardless of their height, weight, body type, or age.

To join the classes, interested individuals need to reserve their spot before attending. Walk-ins are not allowed at this time. Participants can either fill in the online form or download, print, and email the enrolment forms provided on the club's social media or website. Beginner classes for term 1 of 2024 are scheduled for Tuesday nights in Gladstone from January 30th at 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm and Monday nights in Benaraby from February 5th at 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm.

Frequently asked questions regarding clothing, class locations and times, arrival time, and what to bring are addressed on the club's social media and website. For clothing, participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing that allows freedom of movement, such as yoga pants, shorts, or loose-fitting pants and tops. Bare feet are preferred for dancing, but if feet sensitivity is an issue, jiffy shoes or socks can be worn. Bringing a water bottle is also recommended for adequate hydration during the classes.
