The concept of Renshinkai was developed by Master Dickie Wu (7th Dan), who in his early years trained under the late kyokushinkai Grandmaster Masa Oyama (10th Dan), Master Steve Arneil (8th Dan) and with Goju Ryu Master Steve Morris (8th Dan).
Renshinkai is a mixture of many styles, mainly Kyokushinkai and Goju Ryu, taking out the essence of many arts and bringing them together to form Renshinkai. For example, it is not unusual to see holding techniques of Wrestling, the footwork of Boxing or Brazilian Jiu Jitsu ground fighting. Renshinkai has strict traditional discipline and a modern approach to training methods, with the main emphasis on day to day practical scenarios. It is not “Sport Karate” but a Fighting Art.
