We welcome both male and female players aged 16 and above to join our community and get involved in the exciting world of Oztag.
We have three action-packed seasons throughout the year, with Season 1 starting in February, Season 2 in June, and Season 3 in September. Our Senior Mixed Teams welcome players from all divisions, and we strive to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for everyone. Playing Oztag with Redcliffe Oztag has numerous benefits. Firstly, it's incredibly fun! With music playing each week, great prizes, and a BBQ at the end of each season, we ensure that you have an enjoyable and entertaining time at our venues. Secondly, playing Oztag is a great way to get fit.
Each game can be as challenging as you want, allowing you to tailor your level of intensity to your goals. Lastly, safety is a top priority in Oztag. It's a limited-contact sport with no tackling, and strict rules govern player contact to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.
At Redcliffe Oztag, we believe in the development and growth of young athletes. Our Junior Oztag programme focuses on creating a fun and supportive environment for children aged 6 to 15. Through playing Oztag, kids learn important values such as teamwork, confidence, self-respect, and self-esteem. We aim to provide an enjoyable sporting experience that assists in their overall development.
Individual players or small groups are welcome in our Junior Oztag programme. We are more than happy to help you find a team or fill your team with individual players where possible. Each team must have a minimum of 11 players, with 8 players on the field during games. Currently, we have Season 3 available for girls and boys aged 6 to 15, with divisions for girls, boys, and mixed teams.
Players can play up an age division but not down.
Junior Oztag games are held on Tuesday afternoons at 4:30pm and 5:10pm. Please note that we do not play in school holidays. Dates and times may occasionally change due to weather, and catch-up games may be scheduled if needed. The predicted start date for Season 3 is Tuesday, September 3rd, 2024.
