Using modified production or specially built vehicles, drivers compete in stages over public or private roads. Drivers race against the clock on many surfaces, often accompanied by a co-driver who acts as a navigator. Drivers leave with staggered starts to avoid collisions, flying at speeds over 160 km/hr around dangerous bends and alongside sheer drop offs.
