Competing over four anti-clockwise laps of an oval circuit, speedway (also motorcycle speedway), is a motorcycle sport involving between four and six cyclists. The motorcycles are specialised to have no breaks and one gear with the intent of the riders to power slide around the track made of loose rock, loosely packed shale or dirt.
