About
Pranasya Yoga is yoga taught in the tradition of Yogacharya Sri Krishnamacharya and his son Sri T. K. V Desikachar . The teachings of Sri T Krishnamacharya, considered by many as the last grand master, approaches yoga on an individual level addressing the needs of each individual and not trying to make every individual fit into a ‘style’ of yoga.
While there are many tools used in this tradition the most widely known is the practise of Asana or postures. Asana is taught with an emphasis on linking the movement with the breath. Most asana's are done dynamically flowing in and out of the posture or a sequence of postures. Pranasya Yoga offers a number of group classes to suit different indidvual requirements.
These group classes are mostly asana practise with pranayama (breathing) and some relaxation.
Pranasya Yoga also works with students on a one to one basis. This can be done in a therapeutic context, or if this approach would better suit your situation.
Yoga can be practised by everyone irrespective of age, gender, belief system, cultural background or ability. There are no pre-requisites required to begin practising Yoga.
If practised as initially intended Yoga can benefit the person as a whole addressing the individuals needs on many levels.
The benefits of Yoga are now widely recognised throughout the world and many health practitioners recommend yoga as a form of alternative healing to compliment other forms of treatment.
